Drone seeding makes it possible to establish cover crops and catch crops directly into a standing crop, often several weeks before harvest — a timing window that’s simply out of reach for ground based machinery.
By introducing seed early, the existing crop acts as a natural shield, protecting young seedlings from wind, heat, and heavy rainfall. This creates a favourable micro-climate at soil level, supporting more reliable germination and early root development. As a result, the following crop begins establishing sooner, rather than waiting until harvest and drilling operations are complete.
When the main crop is harvested, the cover crop is already in place, providing immediate ground cover, improved nutrient capture, and effective soil protection from day one.
